CHILDREN'S SERVICE QUESTIONS
How
do you confirm that underage passengers have been dropped off successfully?
Children who are at least 13 years of age may be released at a specified
location on their own recognizance with a signed waiver by the parent.
This means that Youngtimers Transit has the authority to release your
child to a location, not a specific person.
Children under 13 years old are released only to
authorized individuals who have been listed on your application. This
means that the drop off does not occur once a specific destination
is reached, but when the authorized individual takes possession of
the child. Please note, it is the sole responsibility of the parent
to ensure that the authorized adult is present at the drop off location
at the designated time.
If
I choose fall or spring semester transportation, does that follow
my child’s school semester dates?
No. Since Youngtimers Transit services various schools,
we define a fall semester as August to December, and spring semester
as January to June. If you are not choosing annual or semester transportation,
it is considered non-contractual and your rate will be modified accordingly.

What
types of entertainment does Youngtimers provide?
Each of the Youngtimers buses are equipped with television screens
and DVD players so that patrons can enjoy movies or television shows
during their ride. These items are pre-selected by Youngtimers based
on the types of patrons on board and age-appropriateness of the material.
And don't forget our famous Fun Fridays when we provide
wireless gaming systems for patrons to play while in transit.
Do
you transport on days of an early dismissal?
Unless we are your schools primary transit provider, we do not transport
on days where there are early dismissals. Since we service various
schools, there may be conflicting times that will make it impossible
to transport.
If
my child misses the bus, will it go back for him/her?
No. Time is essential for ALL means of transportation; therefore we
cannot go back to retrieve any child that has missed the bus. The
bus driver is instructed to give 5 minutes of wait time at each transit
stop.
Can
I have my child’s friend ride home with him from school?
No. Only enrolled passengers are allowed on Youngtimers Transit vehicles.
However, it can be pre-arranged if this type of transit service is
necessary for a discounted rate and if space is available.
Can
my child’s service be cancelled or suspended?
Yes. Youngtimers transit can suspend or terminate a contract for non-payment
or insubordinate or disrespectful behavior of child on the bus.
Is
payment still expected if my child doesn’t ride the bus or if
school is closed?
Yes. Charges are based on a weekly fee, not daily. You are still expected
to pay even if your child misses a day or the entire week. However,
we do not charge during the week for Christmas and Spring break.
Do
I need to inform Youngtimers Transit if I won’t need service
for the day?
You only need to inform us if your child is a Door to Door rider.
Transit stop riders have a window of time to get to their pick-up
location/transit stop. If they are not there, it is presumed that
the child will not be riding for the day.
How
do I contact someone for emergencies?
Once your child is enrolled for transit services, we give clients
our emergency telephone number. We request text messages as a means
to communicate regarding minor incidents; however, feel free to call
if necessary.
